Laura forced yourself to cross the room. She’d come to the party to see Justin, and dammit she was going to say hello. As she walked over to see him, Laura noticed that a couple of guys at the party were staring at her. Men never stared at her. The dress and makeup must’ve been working. One guy even smiled, and Laura smiled back at him. He was pretty cute. He even looked like he wanted to come over to talk to her, and Laura found yourself relieved that she would it look like a loser that no one wanted to talk to.
“Laura!” She heard a voice call from the corner of the room. She turned to see Justin walking quickly over to her side. “I’m so glad you made it,” he said as he placed his hand territorially on her lower back. She thought she even saw him glare as the other guy that was coming over to talk to her. Justin’s competition immediately stood down.
“Congratulations on your new place,” Laura said.
“Let me give you the tour,” Justin offered.
“Sounds great,” Hannah butted in. Laura had no idea where Hannah had come from, but the bitch snake her arm around Justin’s arm and had just invited herself on what Laura had hoped was a private tour of Justin’s new condo. Laura almost felt like she should just leave the party, because there was no way had it was going to let her have any time alone with Justin, but Justin offered his arm to Laura with an apologetic look. She took his arm and gestured for him to lead the way.
After a brief tour of the condo where Hannah took every opportunity to hang all over Justin, Laura found herself alone in the kitchen fixing herself yet another vodka and cranberry. It was her 2nd drink and under an hour, and she was feeling pretty tipsy. She could hear Hannah laughing and whooping it up in the living room. Laura wondered if the cute guy who wanted to talk to her was still at the party. He wasn’t as cute as Justin was, but maybe Justin was just out of Laura’s league.
“Your friend is kind of fun,” Justin said. Laura turned around and found Justin standing right behind her. He was so close she could smell his aftershave. He smelled so damn good.
“She’s not really my friend,” Laura said.
“She’s not really fun,” Justin confessed jokingly.
Laura felt emboldened by his quasi-insult. She knew it was only a matter of time before Hannah burst in the kitchen and interrupted them. That girl had practically peter circle around Justin every single time Laura got anywhere near him.
“I’m just happy that I finally get a moment with you all to myself,” Laura said to Justin as she put her arms around his neck. He eagerly responded by wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him.
“God, Laura,” Justin stammered. “You look so great tonight. I mean, you look great all the time. It’s just I can’t believe I finally get to feel you in my arms. I threw this whole party just hoping to talk to you outside the diner, and you’re here in my kitchen.”
“Now that you have me. What are you going to do?” she teased. There was something about his obvious excitement that she was with him that made her feel sexy and bold. The two drinks didn’t hurt either.
Justin’s shy nature completely vanished at her bold question, and he leaned in and kissed her. The moment she felt his lips, she was hungry for more. She’d never thought she was a passionate woman, but his kiss felt so good. She parted her lips and encouraged him to kiss her more deeply. Her body had a mind of its own, and she found herself grinding against his hardness. She heard him groan, and it turned her on even more.
“What do we have here?” Hannah interrupted.
Justin’s gentlemanly nature instantly returned, and broke free from Laura and tried to act naturally. Hannah attempted to sidle up to Justin now that he was a little further from Laura, but Laura quickly stepped in her way.
“Sorry Hannah, he’s mine,” she said and then looked at Justin’s reaction. His smile was as wide as the Grand Canyon.
“Does that mean, you’re my girl now?” he asked Laura with a hopeful tone.
Laura whispered in his ear. “Yes. I’m all yours. Now take me some place where I can show you how much.”
Justin pressed his forehead to hers and stared at her hungrily. “Tell me I’m not dreaming.”
“You’re not dreaming,” Laura said.
“Thanks for coming to the party Hannah, you’ll have to excuse us,” Justin said without even turning to look at Hannah as he led Laura out of the kitchen toward the bedroom.
Laura looked back to see Hannah’s stunned face. Laura shot her a triumphant little smile. Hannah let out a huff and stormed out. Then, Laura turned back to Justin. She’d beat the bitch and got the guy. Life had never been better.
